Dublin Poc Fada Competion 2013
The final of the Dublin Poc Fada competition took place recently on a 3km course from the South of the Hill in Howth to end at the Beann Eadair GAA club.
The meaning of "Poc Fada" in English is "The long Poc" or "The long hit" and it originates in the Irish Legend of "Tain Bo Cuailgne" when Cuchulainn,as the boy Setanta set out from his home to the Kings Court at Emain Macha, hitting his Sliotar(Ball) before him and running ahead to catch it.and Brochure Design.
The GAA County Board engaged me to Photograph the Event with the Bref - Take a selection of Images of the Compeitors in Action incorporating the Landscape and Terrain of the East and West Mountain of Howth Hill. These images were to be used for Press,PR and Social Media about the event and to showcase the area for future Competitions.
I Used two Cameras to shoot the Project - A Nikon D2x and a Nikon D3 - The lenses i used were a Nikon ED AF Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8 D and a Nilon AF Nikkor 24-120mm 1:3.5-5.6 D. Most of the images were shot as Jpegs with some in Camera raw Format. I have chosen a selection of 24 images to upload to accompany this post.
